Youth Union of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology deploys team of young intellectuals to join hands in building new rural areas

To implement the Youth Union work program and youth movement in 2024 and the direction of the Union Youth Union Standing Committee, to help improve the quality of rural life, develop the economy for farmers and connect youth, on July 24, 2024, the Youth Union of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (Institute Youth Union) includes young scientists from research institutes (Institute of Tropical Biology, Institute of Chemical Technology, Institute of Applied Materials Science, Institute of Applied Mechanics) in collaboration with the Youth Union of Research Institute for Aquaculture II - Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, organized Model training class, support and transfer of commercial blood cockle farming techniques to farmers in Thua Thanh hamlet, Thua Duc commune, Binh Dai district, Ben Tre province.

The program has attracted the participation of a large number of people, with the goal of providing the necessary knowledge and skills to raise blood cockles with a high survival rate. At the training session, Dr. Tran Thanh Thai, Institute of Tropical Biology shared previous research results, providing appropriate mating rates so that local people can apply blood cockle breeding with higher survival rates, helping farmers improve productivity and product quality.

The training session not only helps farmers update breeding methods and modern blood cockle farming techniques, but also creates opportunities to connect and exchange between farmers and technicians. The Institute's Youth Union has received high appreciation from the community for organizing this program, thereby contributing to promoting sustainable development of the aquaculture industry in Ben Tre. The knowledge and experience gained from the training session will be an important foundation to help farmers improve production activities, increase income and improve quality of life.

This is one of the meaningful volunteer activities of the team of young scientific intellectuals of the Central Agencies in general and the youth of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in particular in promoting the spirit of volunteering of youth, contributing to supporting localities in the process of building new rural areas.
