Young Scientist Ngo Ngoc Hai honored at “Ben Dam Me” Award
Dr. Ngo Ngoc Hai, a researcher at Institute of Biology under Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), was honored in the category of outstanding science and technology project authors.
At the award ceremony, journalist Phung Cong Suong – Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper and representative of the Organizing Committee – stated that the committee had received 17 nominations across fields such as social activities, arts and culture, entrepreneurship, and sports, along with 13 nominations for science and technology projects from scientists who had previously won the Golden Globe Award for Science and Technology.
After careful evaluation, the review board selected 6 outstanding individuals in areas including social work, arts and culture, sports, and entrepreneurship, as well as 5 authors of outstanding science and technology projects, to receive the “Ben Dam Me” Award.
Dr. Ngo Ngoc Hai, from the Institute of Biology (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology), was recognized among the group of scientists who had previously received the "Golden Globe Award". He won the Golden Globe Award in 2023 and led the project titled "Assessment of the impact of climate change on ecosystems and genetic diversity of rare reptile species in northern coastal and island areas." The project focused on surveying species composition, genetic relationships, assessing population status, and proposing conservation solutions in response to climate change challenges, with the aim of contributing to sustainable biodiversity protection.

According to the Organizing Committee, the individuals and projects honored at the “Ben Dam Me” Awards hold special significance. They not only showcase creativity, perseverance, and dedication in achieving new accomplishments but also contribute solutions to pressing issues in today’s society, such as the conservation of cultural heritage, enhancing Vietnam’s international presence in arts and sports, supporting education for underprivileged children, and applying technology and artificial intelligence in education, medicine, and environmental protection.
