In his opening remarks, Dr. Nguyen Tran Dien stated that as a leading scientific research organisation in Vietnam, VAST holds a clear responsibility and position in realising Resolution 57. This position is not only demonstrated through the number and quality of scientific works but, more importantly, through its ability to translate science into concrete technical, technological, and policy solutions that address real socio-economic challenges, protect natural resources and the environment, and improve people’s livelihoods.

He emphasised that implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW cannot be achieved by any single institution but requires joint efforts from the entire system - research institutes, universities, enterprises, local authorities, and society as a whole. The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology is committed to maintaining its role as a national knowledge hub, a bridge between science and policy, and a reliable partner for enterprises in transforming science and technology into key drivers of sustainable national development.

The synergy between institutes, universities, and enterprises, along with the concerted engagement of society, will ensure that scientific and technological outcomes are effectively and practically applied, creating new products, services, and development models that directly enhance labour productivity, living standards, and the competitiveness of the national economy.

The workshop provided an open and productive space for managers, scientists, lecturers, and businesses to exchange experiences and propose solutions to foster innovation in Vietnam. It also aimed to strengthen linkages among research institutes, universities, and enterprises, moving towards building a sustainable innovation ecosystem.

Furthermore, participants discussed mechanisms and policies to support technology commercialisation, addressing barriers in the transfer of research results into production and business practice.
