Workshop on energy labeling and certification for LED lighting products
The event was held by the Center for High Technology Development under Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in coordination with the Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The event drew the participation of Deputy Chief of VAST Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Thanh Hung; Director of Institute of Applied Informatics and Mechanics Truong Nguyen Vu; General Director of the High-tech Development Center, Project Director of "Development and promotion of LED technology for general lighting in Vietnam", Dr. Nguyen Van Thao; Representative of Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Dang Hai Dung; Deputy General Director of Dien Quang Lamp Joint Stock Company Nguyen Khanh Binh; and representatives of manufacturers, service providers, experts on standards, regulations for lighting and representatives of relevant ministries and sectors related to the Labeling and Certification program, especially LED lighting products.
The overview of the workshop
Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Nguyen Van Thao, General Director of High-tech Development Center and Project Director said that the workshop aimed to encourage and support businesses that produce and import LED lighting products to actively participate in the LED Label Certification and Certification Program chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade; to step by step improve the quality of LED products in the Vietnamese market; provide exact and timely information to management units in order to make appropriate decisions in the field of lighting management; provide information on quality LED products to orient and shift Vietnam"s lighting market to high quality LED lighting products, which will be labeled in the near future.
Dr. Nguyen Van Thao, General Director of High-tech Development Center and Project Director, made a speech at the workshop.
Participants listened to four reports from Vietnamese and foreign experts on energy labeling. The reports were on the introduction of the Energy Labeling Program of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Decision 04 / 2017 / QD-TTg dated March 9, 2017 of the Prime Minister regulating the list of facilities and equipment to be labeled with energy, applying the minimum energy efficiency and implementation schedule; International Experience on Certification and Energy Efficiency Labeling for LED lighting products; The content of implementing the pilot project of Energy Efficient Labeling and Level of Certification for LED lighting products, and; The pressing and potential need to participate in the LED Lighting Certification and Certification program of lighting enterprises in southern region.
The event was an opportunity for all people interested in Energy Labeling and Certification for LED lighting products to meet, exchange lessons, and discuss how to pilot energy labels, label all lighting products not only domestic but also foreign ones, widely provide information for everyone to know and participate in energy labeling of products.
