Working visit of delegation from Italy’s Trento University
The delegation was received by Acad. Prof. Chau Van Minh, president of VAST; Assoc. Prof. Ninh Khac Ban, head of the Department of International Cooperation; Prof. Patrick Boiron, head of the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH); Prof. Le Hong Khiem, director of the Institute of Physics; Assoc. Prof. Pham Van Cuong, vice director of the Institute of Marine Bio-Chemistry; Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh, deputy head of USTH; Assoc. Prof. Ngo Duc Thanh, deputy head of USTH; Dr. Nguyen Viet Khoa, vice director of the Institute of Mechanics; and Dr. Nguyen Duc Dung, vice director of the Institute of Information Technology.
Addressing the reception, president of VAST Chau Van Minh congratulated the delegation from Trento University on its working visit to the academy. He hoped that after the visit, the cooperation between the two sides would be further promoted, especially in the field of personnel training.
Prof. Maurizio Marchese expressed his pleasure that the two sides will have a memorandum of understanding on student and lecturer exchange, especially between USTH and TRENTO. In some faculties such as bio-technology, ICT and new materials, exchanges can be done immediately. He emphasized that based on the activities of his predecessors and experiences of his predecessors and colleagues, VAST is one of the important partners of Trento University. He also hoped that cooperation between the two sides would be further developed.
After the reception, the delegation from Trento University had a working session with VAST. The two sides gave brief information about their units and discussed the common cooperative relations and signed two agreements.
First is the memorandum of understanding between VAST and Trento University to promote cooperation on culture, education and science related to exchanging students, postgraduates and lectures, as well as other activities. The two sides will promote cooperation on scientific research; provide information on seminars; exchange science and education publications; exchange students and post-graduates; and promote master training programmes.
The second is a cooperation between USTH and Trento University on exchanging lecturers and students in the framework of the Erasmus programme in the 2017-2021 period. Accordingly, every year, the two sides will exchange lecturers and students in the field related to ICT, new materials and biology.
