Vietnamese researchers at Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR, Dubna) support people affected by Typhoon Yagi

On September 26, 2024, during the visit to JINR in Dubna, Russian Federation by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Tuan Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology - Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of Vietnam, the group of Vietnamese researchers coordinated with JINR to organize a ceremony to gather donations to support people in localities affected by typhoon Yagi. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Sharkov and colleagues from JINR, Dr. Tran Chi Thanh - Director of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute and representatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology at the Embassy of Vietnam in the Russian Federation.

The donation is based on the voluntary spirit of the staff with the desire to share the difficulties with the people in the flood-hit areas, contribute to overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and with the feelings always towards the Fatherland, responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front as well as the call of the Trade Union of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. The entire amount of donation has been transferred to the Trade Union of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to transfer to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The research team at JINR hopes that this activity will continue to spread the spirit of solidarity and "mutual love", contributing to alleviating both material and spiritual losses for the community in difficult times.
