Overview of the Conference
APRSAF-28 with the theme "Connecting space development opportunities for a sustainable and prosperous future" takes place in 04 days, specifically: the first 2 days of November 15 & 16, 2022 are meetings of working groups. The meeting took place at Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the next two days, November 17 & 18, 2022, the plenary session took place at the Sheraton Hanoi Hotel. In addition, working sessions of APRSAF initiatives including the Space Technology Application for the Environment (SAFE) initiative and Kibo-ABC took place one day before November 14, 2022, in parallel with the Side events are held in two forms online and in person during the Conference. At the same time, 33 paintings by children aged 8-11 from countries participating in the APRSAF-28 welcome poster design contest will be displayed and voted at the above locations. There are also 09 units displaying space products at the exhibition area, of which 03 units have registered for the gold booth including Japanese companies/conglomerates such as IHI, PASCO, JAMSS and 06 silver booth registration units include Vegastar (Vietnam), Surrey Satellite Technology (UK), Sodern (France), DigitalBlast (Japan), APAQG (non-profit organization) and NSPO (Taiwan - China).

Speaking at the Conference, Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh – President of VAST thanked the participants contributed to the success of APRSAF-28 in Hanoi. Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh shared that Asia - Pacific occupied a large area of the world, which generated about 60% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and 2/3 of global growth, home to more than half of the world's population and home to many major economies with advanced technology platforms in the world. On this basis, many countries in the region have effectively applied space technology to promote sustainable development and achieve strong growth in recent years. With the theme of APRSAF-28 "Connecting innovation opportunities in the space sector towards a sustainable and prosperous future", Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh hopes that the experience in research and application of space technology will be shared and discussed by the delegates to continue working together to build a strong and united space community in the region that can deal with regional and global issues in the coming decades, towards the goal of sustainable development and prosperity of each country in the region.

This year's APRSAF-28 conference attracted more than 350 delegates from 34 countries and territories registered to participate from Space Agencies, Government Organizations, International Organizations, Private Companies, Universities and research institutes. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Anh Tuan - General Director of Vietnam Space Center and co-chair of the APRSAF-28 conference, said that this year's conference will focus on two main goals: sharing and updating information about space activities and future plans of each country and region in the Asia-Pacific; and discussing and seeking international cooperation opportunities among members of APRSAF. The conference is an opportunity for Vietnam to enhance its position and role in the field of space technology and applications in the region.

The Asia-Pacific Space Agency Forum (APRSAF) was established in 1993 to promote the development of each country's space program and exchange visions towards future cooperation in the field. The largest space-related conference in the Asia-Pacific region, APRSAF is held annually with the participation of space agencies, government agencies, international organizations, private companies, universities and research institutes from more than 40 countries and regions. The increasing attendance of senior leaders at APRSAF events has brought many international cooperation opportunities for space activities. Once structured to align with the objectives set forth in the Nagoya APRSAF Vision Statement, the structure of the APRSAF Conference will include: 5 working groups, 1 workshop and a Plenary Session.
