Vietnam National Space Center honoured “Vietnam Glory”
Politburo member, secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and head of the PCC Commission of Mass Mobilization Truong Thi Mai; leaders of ministries, committees, honoured collectives and individuals; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Tuan Anh, vice president of VAST, attended the event.
The programme “Vietnam Glory 2019” honours 12 indiviuduals and seven collectives
In response to the Party and State"s major undertakings and policies on encouraging economic sectors and people of all strata to participate in the fourth industrial revolution and under the theme "Follow Uncle Ho’s sayings", in 2019, the programme honoured 12 individuals and seven collectives. These are the leading collectives and individuals in learning, practicing, having excellent achievements, constantly creating, daring to think and daring to do, making a worthy contribution to national growth.
The organizing board said that the voted collectives and individuals mainly are the groups and individuals recognized by Party and State agencies, and introduced by the Central Emulation Committee and Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.
Vice director of VNSC Le Xuan Huy honoured at the event
VNSC, MicroDragon satellite research and development unit, is one of the seven outstanding collectives honored at the event. MicroDragon satellite, a product of 36 young engineers under the guidance of Japanese experts, was successfully launched into orbit on January 18th, 2019, in Japan. It marked the initial step in the development of satellite “Made in Vietnam” by VNSC, whose main task is to take photos monitoring the quality of coastal sea water to serve fishing and aquaculture in Vietnam.
Representatives of collectives were honored
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Mrs. Mai congratulated 12 individuals and 7 collectives. She said that they were really typical examples, vivid evidence in the campaign of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and ethics. Several collectives and individuals are known for their good work and deeply significant contributions to social life.
Since 2004, the programme has become an event that has a positive impact, creating good effects in society. The examples of the honored collectives and individuals have promoted noble qualities, contributing to the encouragement of people of the whole country to enthusiastically emulate and contribute to national development.
