At the workshop
The workshop was an opportunity to review some achievements of cooperative projects on scientific research and training of some Vietnamese and French units. It was also a place for managers and scientists to share their experiences on opportunities, challenges and prospects for future cooperation. This was an event that marked the USTH officially becoming a new member of the Vietnam - France Friendship and Cooperation Association.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, former Minister of Health, and President of Vietnam - France Friendship and Cooperation Association, said that the Vietnam - France Friendship Association had gone through 65 years of operation with the aim of "contributing to strengthening the mutual understanding and friendship between the people of Vietnam and France; boosting continuous development of relations between the two countries, for peace, cooperation and development”. Cooperation in research and training is one important cooperative area between Vietnam and France. Not only continuing to support training for Vietnamese students who come to France to study, diverse cooperative forms have been carried out, including training cooperation with the Vietnam National University - Hanoi, the National Economics University, and in 2009 with the project to establish USTH.
In the framework of the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Tien made the decision to establish the Vietnam-France Friendship Association Branch of USTH. The Vietnam - France Friendship and Cooperation Association Central Committee believed that the USTH Association Branch would be a good friendship bridge for the university's lecturers, researchers and scientists to continue to strengthen the connection with French lecturers and scientists.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, President of Vietnam - France Friendship and Cooperation Association, hands over the decision to establish the Vietnam - France Friendship and Cooperation Association Branch at the USTH for Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh, representative of USTH Association Branch.
Prof. Dr. Phan Ngoc Minh, VAST Vice President and President of USTH Council of Managers, said that VAST was honored to be chosen by the Vietnam - France Friendship Association to hold the workshop and congratulated USTH on becoming a new member of the Association. VAST has a long tradition of cooperation with many French partners, of which USTH is one of the projects proving the successful cooperation between Vietnam and France. USTH has always received the support of the Government of France and the alliance of 40 French universities. VAST respects and acknowledges the contributions of French partners. VAST believed that as a member of the Association, USTH will make important contributions to the development of the Association.
