Vietnam and Austrian sign technology cooperation deal
Attendants during the signing ceremony included Prof. Dr.Sc. Duong Ngoc Hai, VAST Vice President and GUST Director; representatives from the GUST International Cooperation Department, the Institute of Science and Technology, the Institute of Energy Science, the Institute of Tropical Technology, the Institute of Mechanics, the Institute of Environmental Technology and GUST departments. On the Austrian side, Mr. Alois Stöger, Minister of Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT); Dr. Thomas Loidl, Austrian Ambassador to Vietnam; Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Knoll, AIT President; representatives from BMVIT and AIT departments, AWS and Kontrollbank banks attended the event.

During the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr.Sc Duong Ngoc Hai gave a brief introduction about the structure, functions, missions and the potential for scientific and technological research as well as achievements in international cooperation of VAST, expressing his hope to set up long-term cooperation relationship with AIT.
Mr. Alois Stöger, BMVIT Minister, thanked VAST for a warm welcome. He also provided an introduction about AIT structure, importance and achievements, appreciating the cooperation between GUST and AIT.
GUST and AIT sign MoU
The two sides agreed with forms of cooperation set in the MoU, including building up and realising joint projects; exchanging information, scholars and researchers; working together to train PhDs; and co-chairing meetings and workshops.
Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Knoll reviewed the contents of the MoU, and delivered an invitation for the institutes and departments to visit AIT to see what are being done, thus carrying out specific cooperation programs based on the signed MoU while seeking and setting up new links to promote and expand the cooperation in other areas.
After the signing ceremony, the Austrian delegation paid a working visit to the Institute of Information and Technology
