Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology works with Vietnam Fire and Rescue Association

On June 6, 2023, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) had a working session with the Vietnam Fire and Rescue Association (VFRA). Attending the meeting were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Tuan Anh, Vice President of VAST; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Tien Dung, Director of Department of Application and Development of Technology, and representatives of Office Leaders, Institute of Chemistry, Institute of Materials Science, Institute of Mechanics. On the side of Vietnam Fire and Rescue Association, there were Mr. Nguyen Do Tung Cuong, Chairman of VFRA, and representatives of departments and businesses under VFRA.

At the meeting, units under VAST introduced some research results in the field of fire protection and rescue, such as fire retardant paint products of Institute of Materials Science, studies on some flame retardant filler additives, fireproof helmet, fireproof gloves and, fireproof boots, of the Institute of Chemistry.

The two sides exchanged, discussed, proposed the application and transfer of research results of units under VAST with member enterprises under VFRA. VFRA also proposes to coordinate with VAST and units affiliated to VAST in the development of drafts and comments on legal documents, normative standards related to the field of fire protection and technology that VFRA is assigned; support in the development of fire prevention and fighting plans, training in fire prevention and fighting and rescue for units under VAST.

The two sides will continue to exchange and develop a memorandum of cooperation, organize a joint seminar to introduce research results in the field of fire protection and technology, creating a basis for cooperation.
