Overview of the working session
Over the past period, the cooperative relationship between VAST and Da Nang City has been implemented comprehensively across multiple scientific and technological fields, contributing to solving practical challenges and promoting scientific research, technological application, innovation, and digital transformation to serve the city's socio-economic development. This working session marks a step toward concrete implementation of the signed Cooperation Agreement through specific tasks and technologies, thereby deepening bilateral cooperation and yielding measurable outcomes.

Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Tran Hong Thai emphasized the urgent requirement of the current phase: shifting decisively from a framework of cooperation to execution, converting strategic directions into actionable tasks with clear products, target applications, and designated recipient units. To deepen cooperation, Prof. Dr. Tran Hong Thai requested units under VAST and Da Nang City to focus on reviewing and selecting urgent, high-priority challenges; swiftly establish plans for post-signing testing, evaluation, and technology refinement; and continuously expand the triple-helix connection model: regulatory authorities – research institutes – enterprises. The VAST President expressed his desire for both sides to progressively transition from isolated project-based collaboration to large-scale programs spanning the entire chain from research to commercialization, while directing VAST units to proactively propose solutions and accompany enterprises throughout the application process.

Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung also acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of cooperation between VAST and Da Nang City in recent times. To enhance cooperative efficiency in the new phase, the City Chairman requested VAST to continue accompanying and supporting the locality across several strategic directions. Concurrently, the City Chairman instructed local departments, sectors, and enterprises to proactively coordinate with VAST's affiliated units to connect with and immediately adopt suitable technological solutions, contributing to accelerating fast and sustainable local socio-economic development.
Signing of memoranda of understanding on cooperation between the two sides
During the working session, representatives from research institutes, departments, sectors, and enterprises of both sides focused their discussions on the feasibility of applying VAST's available technologies to practical operations. They also proposed numerous practical solutions to resolve procedural bottlenecks and meet the adoption and application needs of local units and businesses, thereby creating favorable conditions for technology transfer.
Implementing the contents of the Cooperation Agreement, VAST's affiliated units and enterprises/organizations in Da Nang City signed memoranda of understanding for the application and transfer of several advanced technologies. These signed agreements are expected to contribute to translating VAST's scientific research findings into practical production, supporting local enterprises and authorities in enhancing technological capabilities in the coming period.
