In terms of training and capacity building of high-quality human resources, VAST seeks to leverage the strengths of research institutions, universities, and partner enterprises abroad to develop modern research infrastructure, decode technologies, propose joint scientific research projects, and promote high-tech training and technology transfer.
On behalf of the international scientists, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Chung Tham (Auburn University, United States) delivering remarks at the courtesy meeting
Representing the international scientists, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Chung Tham (Auburn University, United States) stated that the International Conference on Environmental Pollution, Restoration and Management (ICEPORM) is a series of scientific conferences first organized in Vietnam in 2010 to connect scientists and environmental managers in discussing urgent issues, sharing experiences, and promoting cooperation toward environmental protection and sustainable development, particularly in rapidly developing Southeast Asian countries that are facing many environmental challenges. The ICEPORM-5 Conference focused on a number of important topics, including comprehensive environmental pollution, environmental toxicology, public health, environmental risk assessment, technologies and solutions for environmental treatment and restoration, environmental management, and policy. The objective of ICEPORM-5 is to bring together international and Vietnamese environmental scientists to share and discuss research findings, address issues of environmental pollution, and identify solutions to environmental pollution challenges in countries around the world as well as in Vietnam. The conference also aims to strengthen international cooperation in research and the training of young environmental scientists.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Chung Tham affirmed his readiness to share practical experience and advanced treatment technologies, and committed to supporting resources and partner connections to assist Vietnam in research, training, and education in the field of environmental management.
