Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology’s Council for Emulation and Commendation holds year-end review meeting for 2024

On December 16, 2024, the Council for Emulation and Commendation of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) convened a plenary session to evaluate emulation titles and forms of commendation for the year 2024. The meeting was chaired by Professor and Academician Chau Van Minh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the VAST Party Committee, President of VAST, and Chairman of the Council for Emulation and Commendation.

During the meeting, the Council's Standing Committee presented a summary report on emulation and commendation activities in 2024. The report highlighted that the emulation and commendation efforts at VAST have become increasingly systematic and have been highly praised by management authorities. The evaluation and selection of emulation titles and commendations were conducted in strict compliance with current regulations.

As of December 2024, the commendation achievements included 03 Second-Class Labor Orders and 02 Third-Class Labor Orders for individuals with long-term contributions; 03 Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, awarded to two collectives (VAST for its outstanding achievements in the Emulation Cluster of Ministries and Sectors for Science, Culture, and Society in 2023 and the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi) and one individual for exceptional achievements in scientific research; Certificates of Merit from the VAST President for three collectives and six individuals, including one foreign national; VAST Commemorative Medals for 92 individuals, including 12 foreign nationals and two individuals from external agencies; Medals for the Cause of Science and Technology for 35 individuals.

Additionally, VAST introduced several scientists for participation in emulation and commendation at higher levels.

The Council discussed and evaluated the results of emulation and commendation activities for 2024 and conducted voting to finalize the emulation titles and commendation awards, which will be announced and presented during the VAST’s 2024 year-end summary event.

For 2025, the key focus of VAST’s emulation and commendation activities will include preparations for the 50th Anniversary of VAST’s establishment, thorough planning for the Fourth VAST Patriotic Emulation Congress, and exemplary conferences at all levels, leading up to the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress.
