Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology receives delegation from RMIT University

On the morning of June 8, 2022, representatives of leaders of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) had a reception and working session with the delegation of RMIT University.

The event drew the participation of Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha, VAST Vice President; Dr. Le Quynh Lien, Head of VAST’s International Cooperation Department and some leaders of VAST     's units such as Institute of Information Technology, Institute of Biotechnology, Institute of Marine Environment and Resources and Graduate University of Science and Technology.

On the side of the RMIT delegation, Prof. Calum Drummond, Executive Vice President of the RMIT Melbourne School Board (Research and Innovation); and Prof. Xavier Mullet, Director of Advanced Manufacturing and Manufacturing Capability Platforms, also attended the working session.

Overview of the working session between RMIT and VAST

At the reception, Prof. Drummond proposed strategic cooperation and specific action plans between RMIT and VAST, exchanged strategic research cooperation plans, introduced research programs for PhD students, strengthened research capacity, and at the same time introduced the model of PhD student cooperation and discussed      co-supervising doctoral students. Supporting the strengthening of cooperation between the two sides, Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha introduced graduate and post-graduate training through the two universities and closely linked research units affiliated to VAST. He said that this was a basis to implement cooperation activities in the future.

The two sides also exchanged and discussed the building and developing cooperation opportunities with the desire to jointly train a team of young Vietnamese scientists with expertise and capacity for scientific research in the international environment.
