Overview of the working session
At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha noted that Vietnam and Brazil celebrated the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations and elevated their ties to a Strategic Partnership in 2024. To date, the two countries have continued to strengthen cooperation in sports, academic exchanges, and the signing of agreements in science-technology cooperation, innovation, and digital transformation. Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha also gave a brief introduction of VAST to the Brazilian delegation, highlighting that VAST has engaged in multiple science and technology cooperation activities with Brazil in recent years, such as: receiving Mr. Marco Farani - Ambassador of Brazil to Vietnam, and Ms. Luciana Santos - Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of Brazil in November 2023; welcoming the technical delegation of the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation in May 2024, during which both sides proposed the establishment of a joint Brazil-Vietnam human resource training center. Most recently, on August 4, 2025, VAST hosted a delegation of Brazilian researchers specializing in biofuels.
