Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology participates in Vietnam International Semiconductor Industry Exhibition 2024 (SEMICON 2024)
Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology participates in coordinating and organizing activities within the framework of the above event, supporting the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City to connect with units under Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to participate in the exhibition to connect, trade, visit the field to exchange experiences, cooperate in technology transfer, investment and apply typical advanced solutions in management activities and training in the semiconductor industry.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngoc, said that the 2024 Vietnam International Semiconductor Industry Exhibition is organized with the aim of calling on businesses and organizations operating in the field of semiconductors in particular, the high-tech industry in general in the city and neighboring provinces to establish a high-tech ecosystem. This includes research institutes, educational and training institutions, high-tech zones, logistics systems such as warehouses, factories, finance, supporting industries and technology startups.

To support businesses in connecting and cooperating domestically and internationally, promoting the high-tech industry and expanding trade promotion opportunities, the Department of Industry and Trade coordinates to organize the Vietnam International Exhibition on Optoelectronics, Lasers and Display and Touch Technology 2024 in parallel with the Vietnam Semiconductor Exhibition 2024. The exhibition introduces optical products and technologies, key areas in the production of microchips, such as photolithography, testing, measurement and signal transmission. The Shenzhen - Guangdong Innovation Cooperation Promotion Association also invites high-tech enterprises such as Huawei, Tencent and Oppo to visit and survey the market.

In addition to the exhibition booths, the exhibition also features seminars, business networking conferences, and trade activities to support businesses in finding partners, expanding markets and promoting cooperation in the semiconductor industry. The forum “Promoting investment cooperation opportunities in the semiconductor industry in Ho Chi Minh City” chaired by the Department of Industry and Trade will take place within the framework of the exhibition, gathering experts and leaders from prestigious organizations such as the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and high-tech human resource training units.
At the Workshop, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology presented a paper on “Application of plasma technology in the semiconductor industry” by the Institute of Physics and “Band transfer technology for two-dimensional layered materials and production of ultra-clean semiconductor devices” by the Institute of Applied Materials Science.
The forum will focus on semiconductor development strategies from now to 2030, vision to 2050, and Vietnam's role in the global supply chain. Discussions on research, training and optoelectronic technology will also be presented by leading experts, creating opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange for participating businesses.
