Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology participates in the opening ceremony of the technology and display exchange, introducing innovative scientific products
For the first time, an intermediary organization of the science and technology market, aiming to connect national technology supply and demand parties, officially operates. The exchange is an intermediary organization of the science and technology market, in order to connect technology supply and demand parties, commercialize research results, and support organizations and individuals to display and demonstrate exhibitions and trade promotion of scientific and technological products and goods, contributing to the development of the science and technology market.
Attending the opening ceremony, on the side of Ministry of Science and Technology, there were Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Science and Technology; Mr. Le Xuan Dinh, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology; Mr. Tran Van Tung, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology; Mr. Tran Dac Hien, Head of the National Department of Science and Technology Information; and representatives of leaders of agencies and units under Ministry of Science and Technology. Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan Province; Mr. Phan Xuan Dung, former member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations; Mr. Pham Tan Cong, Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. On the side of the coordinating units, there were Mr. Nguyen Quan, former Minister of Science and Technology, and Chairman of Vietnam Automation Association; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi, Former Ambassador to Canada and Austria, and Vice President of the Association of Vietnamese Women Intellectuals; Mr. Hoang Duc Thao, Chairman of the Vietnam Enterprise Science and Technology Association; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Chairwoman of Vietnam - Europe International Entrepreneurs Association.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat emphasized that the formation and synchronous development of the science and technology market is a major and cross-cutting policy of the Party and State. The Ministry of Science and Technology highly appreciates the initiative and efforts of the National Agency for Science and Technology Information in coordinating with a number of associations to deploy activities at the information technology and equipment exchange. Minister Huynh Thanh Dat proposed the National Agency for Science and Technology Information to well organize and operate the information technology and equipment exchange; and actively connect with other technology and equipment exchanges across the country as well as in the region. The exchange also needs to make efforts to become a reliable and familiar address of research institutes, universities and other science and technology organizations. Thereby, it is possible to "awaken" the potential of research results, especially research results using the State budget.
On the occasion of the opening of the information technology and equipment exchange, in response to the Vietnam Innovation and Startup Festival, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology brought to display and introduce at the event products showing high technological content, originality, creativity and technologies capable of being widely applied in social life and society, contributing to the socio-economic development of Vietnam, such as:
In terms of automation, the free 6-step Tay robot from the Institute of Mechanics (Robot SM6) with a weight of 38 kg, which is easy to disassemble and replace equipment. The arm of the robot is suitable for small and medium enterprises and factories of Vietnam. The product has been ordered by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and applied in a number of organic fertilizer factories.
In the direction of Information Technology, there are environmental monitoring systems. The Center for Informatics and Computing offers many products: SmartEyes - Solution for checking medical declarations, supporting tracing for COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control, integrating temperature measurement, accessing control management, grassroots professional procedures; Foreign Object Debris (FOD) – quickly and accurately search and detect foreign objects on the flight path; system of air reconnaissance, communication, surveillance, navigation, search and rescue; Itelligent signal information system for railway crossings combined with train driving aids; and smart vehicle and driver monitoring system.
The direction of material science displays the following products: fire prevention paints being used in steel structures; X-ray fluorescence analysis equipment and methods (Institute of Materials Science).
About biotechnology, a series of products of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology are displayed, from soil and environment improvement (Institute of Environmental Technology, Institute of Applied Materials Science), to the cultivation and development rare and precious animal and plant species, (Institute of Biotechnology, Institute of Chemistry, Vietnam Museum of Nature) to maintain conservation and exploit and develop OCOP products, solutions to promote rural economy, bring efficiency high economic results, creating jobs, increasing incomes for people and holding the meaning of hunger eradication and poverty alleviation in the spirit of the Government for people in upland and disadvantaged areas, arousing the development potential of localities.
At the event, hundreds of science and technology products of 25 innovative female start-up enterprises in the fields of medicine and pharmacy, biotechnology, automation, information technology and materials, and institutes, schools and associations were displayed and introduced to the delegates. In addition, within the framework of the event, seminars and talks on trade connection and promotion and technology transfer took place. After 3 days of opening and displaying science and technology products and goods (from November 25 to 27, 2021), the technology exchange continues to operate regularly to introduce science and technology products and goods and organize events, activities of demonstration, connection and promotion of technology and goods transfer on domestic and international markets.
