Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology held a meeting to develop a plan for organizing Vietnam Science and Technology Day 2014

Implementing the provisions of the Law on Science and Technology in 2013, taking every 18/5 year is Vietnam Science and Technology Day. This year, Vietnam Science and Technology Day was held for the first time to widely disseminate scientific and technological achievements, to honor the contingent of cadres engaged in scientific research and raising awareness. Association on the role of science and technology and mobilize the young generation, especially students and students to enjoy scientific research, contribute to building and developing the scientific and technological human resources in the period to promote industrialization and modernization of the country.

In the morning of March 26, 2014, VAST organized a meeting to set up a plan to organize the Vietnam Science and Technology Day 2014. Attending the meeting were Prof. Chuc Van Minh, Chairman of the Institute; Prof. Nguyen Dinh Cong, Prof. Duong Ngoc Hai - Vice Chairman of the Institute; The Executive Committee of the Party Committee, the Chairman of the Union, the Secretary of the Youth Union and the leaders of the Office, the Functional Departments and the units under the Academy.

The theme of Vietnam Science and Technology Day 2014 is: "Science and Technology - motivation for fast and sustainable development"

At the meeting, GS. Chau Van Minh, Chairman of VAST concluded: The Academy will establish the Organizing Committee and subcommittees as the propaganda committee chaired by Prof. Nguyen Dinh Cong, Vice President of the Academy as Head of Subcommittee. Inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Hai, Vice President of the Academy was the Head of the Sub-Committee to coordinate the implementation of the Vietnam Science and Technology Day Program in 2014 and the 39th Anniversary of the Academy"s establishment.

Active content of anniversaries:

- Information and propaganda activities of the purpose, meaning and role of science and technology in the country"s socio-economic development on the occasion of Vietnam"s Science and Technology Day on May 18 and 39th anniversary of the establishment of VAST (May 20, 1975 - 2/0/5/2014).

- Organize the opening days of laboratories of all research institutes under the Academy; display the outstanding scientific and technological research results of VAST to facilitate students, students and those interested in science and technology to visit and interact with scientists Study of the Academy. Time: The day is open from May 17 to May 20, 2014.

- Meeting to welcome at the Academy, 18 Hoang Quoc Viet, Cau Giay, Hanoi on May 20, 2014;

- Organizing sports competition and arts activities to celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day.

- Welcome slogans with the content: "Science and Technology - motivation for fast and sustainable development" and "Warmly welcome Vietnam Science and Technology Day 18-5 and 39th anniversary set up Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology ".

At the end of the meeting, the units began implementing the plan to celebrate the two major holidays mentioned above from April 2014.
