Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology has a meeting with University of Genova, Italy

On October 27, 2023, Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha, Vice President of VAST, received the delegation of the University of Genoa (UniGe), Italy, led by Prof. Renata Paola Dameri, Vice Rector in charge of International Relations, Representative in charge of Smart City, Director of International Master in Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurship Innovation at the University of Genoa. At the meeting there were also representatives of VAST, USTH, Institute of Biotechnology, Institute of Geophysics, Institute of Energy Science and Institute of Information Technology.

The two sides introduced their organizational structures, strengths and potentials in the field of research and training in order to seek new potential cooperation opportunities in the future.

The main content of this meeting is cooperation exchange related to training, especially interested in topics on AI and Robotics, green economy, smart cities, biofood, bioengineering and energy, in areas that can be considered as priority development today.

Vice President Chu Hoang Ha welcomed the University of Genoa delegation to visit and work with VAST. He also expressed his expectation for the cooperation between the two sides, especially when the University of Genoa and VAST possess the same strengths in training and research. 

UniGe representative said that UniGe was founded in 1481 and is one of the oldest universities in Europe. UniGe is divided into 5 Schools and 22 Faculties, with 11 Research Centers and 2 Research Centers of Excellence, more than 280 training programs are distributed at the Genoa, Imperia, Savona and La Spezia campuses. UniGe is one of the most multidisciplinary, comprehensive and renowned public universities in Italy, with outstanding achievements in several fields of science, technology and culture. Members of the delegation introduced more about UniGe's activities, some key research results and achievements and expressed their desire to cooperate with VAST.

The reception ended well in an open and sincere atmosphere and hopefully there will be more cooperation and joint coordination in the near future. The coordination of training and research will contribute to strongly promoting the training of future young generations, a key issue in the development and growth of each country.
