Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Sign Cooperation Agreement on Science, Technology, and Innovation for the 2026–2030 Period

On May 14, 2026, at the Bac Ninh Provincial Conference Center, the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, in cooperation with the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and the National Economics University, organized a scientific workshop on the theme “Establishing a new growth model, restructuring the economy, accelerating industrialization and modernization, taking science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as the main driver in Bac Ninh province.” Within the framework of the program, VAST and the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee signed a Cooperation Agreement for the 2026–2030 period on research and application of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

Overview of the event

Delivering the opening speech, Comrade Mai Son emphasized the urgent need to shift Bac Ninh's growth model from capital- and labor-intensive to one based on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. He affirmed that the workshop will provide important arguments for the province to formulate development policies in the coming period.

At the workshop, Vice President Tran Tuan Anh highly appreciated Bac Ninh's strategic theme aimed at concretizing the Party's Resolution 57-NQ/TW. He affirmed that VAST is ready to accompany the locality in research, policy consulting, human resource training, and technology transfer to build a modern, green, and sustainable growth model. In addition, presentations at the workshop from VAST, the National Economics University, the Bac Ninh Association of Scientists, etc., focused on in-depth analysis of growth model renewal associated with digital transformation; development of high-tech industries and green economy; training of high-quality human resources; and the shift from processing to a knowledge-based economy.

Signing of the Cooperation Agreement for the 2026–2030 period between Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee

Within the framework of the program, VAST and the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee signed a Cooperation Agreement for the 2026–2030 period on research and application of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Under the Cooperation Agreement, the two parties will strengthen coordination in scientific research. In particular, VAST will promote the application and transfer of technology, advise on the development of mechanisms and policies for the development of science, technology, and innovation; train and develop high-quality human resources; and implement science and technology tasks that directly serve the socio-economic development needs of Bac Ninh province in the new period.

On the same day, the delegates participated in the opening of the Bac Ninh Innovation Startup Festival (Techfest Bac Ninh 2026) and launched the 2026 Digital Civil Servant Contest.
