VAST showcases science and technology achievements at the "The Train into the New Era" Exhibition during the 13th National Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Congress (2026–2031)

As part of the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for the 2026-2031 term, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union organised the "Journey into the New Era" exhibition at the National Convention Centre in Ha Noi from June 24-26, 2026.

At the exhibition, the Youth Union of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), in collaboration with the Youth Unions of Nhan Dan Newspaper, the Truth National Political Publishing House and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, helped develop the exhibition space of the Central Party Agencies' Youth Union. VAST showcased a number of outstanding scientific and technological products that attracted considerable attention from delegates attending the Congress, including:

- PicoDragon, the first satellite developed by the satellite engineering team of the Vietnam National Space Centre. The project was launched in 2007, and the satellite was successfully placed into orbit on November 19, 2013, marking the first successful operation of a "Made in Vietnam" satellite in space.

- MicroDragon, developed by young Vietnamese engineers from the Vietnam National Space Centre. The engineers received training in space technology in Japan during the 2013-2019 period.

- NanoDragon, a CubeSat-class nanosatellite weighing around 4 kg and measuring 3U (100 × 100 × 340.5 mm).

- A range of specialised coating materials researched and developed by Dr. Nguyen Viet Dung and his team at the Institute of Materials Science.

The presence of these products, showcasing Vietnamese scientific ingenuity, at the "The train into the New Era" exhibition was not only a source of pride for VAST but also a testament to the pioneering spirit and creativity of generations of Vietnamese scientists and engineers, including the significant contributions made by the Academy's young researchers.

Through the exhibition, Youth Union members and students were encouraged to pursue careers in science with confidence, strive to master science and technology, and contribute to the country's development, in line with the spirit of the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union: "Resilient Determination – Pioneering Creativity – Aspiration to Serve – Mastering the Future".
