VAST’s visit to Astrium SAS Company under EADS, France
The visit aimed to research and survey establishments designing and creating satellite of the group and inspect the implementation of the project VNREDSat-1 in France.
The delegation included Assoc. Prof. Ninh Khac Ban, head of the Department for International Cooperation; Assoc. Prof. Phan Van Kiem, head of the Department of Personal Organization; Assoc. Prof. Phan Ngoc Minh, head of the Department of Planning and Finance; Dr. Bui Trong Tuyen, vice president of the Institute of Space Technology; M.A. Nguyen Trong Khoi, director of Center for Training, Consultancy and Technology Transfer; Chu Ngoc Anh, alternative member of the Party Central Committee and deputy minister of Science and Technology; and Nguyen Hai Duong, deputy secretary of Party Committee of Centrally-run Agencies Bloc.
On June 25th, the delegation visited office of Astrium company, worked with Astrium Chief Executive in France François Auque, visited Arian 5 rocket manufacture plant in the outskirts of Paris.
On June 26th, the delegation paid a working visit to Vietnamese Embassy in France.
On June 27th, the delegation had a working session with satellite installation foundation of Astrium company in Toulouse city and the project team VNREDSat-1. VNREDSat-1 is the first Vietnam’s earth observation optical satellite. Now, it has completed the collective master plan, scheduled satellite experimental steps and access the quality by 2012.

On June 28th, the delegation visited A380 plane installation line of Airbus, inspected and recommended engineers from VAST who were trainees at Astrium company in the framework of the project.
On June 30th, the delegation left France to conclude the successful visit.
