VAST presented chemical supplies and hand-washing gel production process to the Ministry of Science and Technology of Laos

On May 22, 2020, the Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Vietnam, and Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology held a ceremony to hand over chemical supplies and production process of hand-washing gel to prevent COVID-19 for Laos Ministry of Science and Technology. Attending the ceremony, on the side of VAST, were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Tuan Anh, Vice President of VAST; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ninh Khac Ban, Head of International Cooperation Department; and scientists of VAST. On the side of the Embassy of Laos in Vietnam, there was Mr. Sengphet Houngboungnuang, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Vietnam, and the attachés working at the Embassy.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Tuan Anh, Vice President of VAST, on behalf of VAST expressed his thanks to the Lao Embassy in Vietnam for supporting VAST to transport materials and chemicals to the Lao Ministry of Science and Technology to produce 7 tons of dry hand-washing gel to prevent COVID-19 in Laos.

Mr. Sengphet Houngboungnuang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Vietnam, thanked VAST for transferring the production process and supporting chemical supplies to produce hand-washing gel for preventing the COVID-19 epidemic in Lao People’s Democratic Republic. This is a meaningful gift, showing the special solidarity between VAST and the Lao Ministry of Science and Technology in particular, and between Vietnam and Laos in general.
