VAST meets press agencies on the New Year

On February 16th, on the occasion of the New Year of the Dragon, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) held a meeting with reporters and journalists to strengthen understanding and coordination between the academy and press agencies. Participants included Nguyen Quang, representative from the Party Central Committee’s Commission of Popularization and Education, and reporters from central and Hanoi press agencies such as Vietnam Television, the Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency, Hanoi Television and Radio Station, Science and Life Newspaper, People Newspaper, Science and Development Newspaper, Scientific Activity Magazine, Science and Fatherland Magazine, People’s Army Newspaper, Law Newspaper, Family and Society weekly Newspaper and Labour Newspaper.

Prof. Chau Van Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Party Secretary and VAST President; Assoc. Prof. Ha Duy Ngo, permanent vice secretary of VAST Party Committee; and representative leaders from units that assist the VAST President all participated in the meeting.

Prof. Chau Van Minh briefly mentioned science and technology research application and deployment by the academy, results in 2011, as well as key orientations of the academy in 2012.

Reporters expressed their hopes for more opportunities to provide updated information about the latest scientific research of the academy to meet people’s demand for information.

On behalf of the academy directories, Mr. Minh thanked press agencies and hoped that the press would publish more science and technology news to encourage science and technology workers in general and in the academy in particular.
