VAST Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union receives Prime Minister’s certificate of merit and honours “outstanding young scientists” for the first time
On behalf of VAST President and authorised by the Prime Minister, Phan Van Kiem, Deputy Secretary of the VAST Party Committee and VAST Vice President, awarded the Prime Minister’s certificate of merit for VAST Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, congratulating the union for receiving the award and for excellent achievements at work which makes important contributions to the development of VAST.

Phan Van Kiem stressed that over the past years, the VAST Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union had made great contributions to the development of VAST in particular and for the scientific development process of the country in general. Many scientific works bare the mark of the brainpower, efforts and energy of the union’s members. Many young scientists have exerted their efforts to confirm their positions within the scientific researchers and have won many prestigious domestic and international awards.
On behalf of the VAST Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Nguyen Ngoc Tung, Secretary of the union, sent thanks to comrades in the VAST Party Executive Committee, VAST leaders, VAST Council for Emulation and Awards, leaders from VAST units and permanent members of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Central Agencies, for making favourable conditions for the union and youth movements to develop further. In particular, special thanks were sent to VAST Party Executive Committee and VAST leaders for issuing suitable policies and programs to facilitate young cadres’ talent. Receiving the Prime Minister’s certificate of merit is both the honour and responsibility of VAST Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in carrying out activities in the upcoming time.

During the ceremony, the VAST Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union honoured 6 outstanding young scientists’ excellent achievements in scientific research. This was the first time the union honoured outstanding young scientists in an attempt to promote the vanguard and creative role of VAST union members in realising the movement “Young creativity” and the movement “3 responsibilities” launched by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Central Agencies. The young scientists who were honoured for the first time included MSc. Nguyen Thuy Chinh - the Institute of Applied Materials Science, Dr. Nguyen Thien Tao – Vietnam Museum of Nature, Dr. Bui Hung Thang - Institute of Materials Science, Dr. Hoang Le Truong - Institute of Mathematics, Dr. Doan Thai Son - Institute of Mathematics.
