USTH spends 6 billion VND for scholarships in 2021-2022 school year

The University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) spends more than 6 billion to award scholarships to students who enter the University's undergraduate and master's programs in the academic year 2021 - 2022.

Specifically, for students entering university programs in the 2021-2022 school year, USTH has many attractive scholarship policies, giving priority to students who are matriculated and register early before the National High School Examination.

In which, student won the first prize in the national contest for excellent students in the natural sciences in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Geography and the winners in the national and international Olympic competitions will be awarded a full scholarship with a maximum value of 187 million VND/person.

For students who won the Second, Third and Encouragement Prizes of the National Excellent Student Competition in Natural Sciences, the University offers scholarships worth 30 million, 20 million and 10 million respectively per year for the entire 3-year or 4-year course. The candidate who won the final first prize in the Intel ViSEF National Science and Technology Exam will receive a scholarship of 45 million VND for the first year of study.

In addition, USTH also has a diverse scholarship policy for students with excellent high school academic achievements with scholarships ranging from 10 million to 45 million VND/year.

In addition to the attractive scholarship policy, for the 2021-2022 school year, USTH also applies a direct recruitment policy for students with an average score of 5 in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Informatics >= 8.5 years grades 11 and 12; winners in provincial, national and international competitions for excellent students in natural sciences: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics and Geography. Particularly, the Aviation Engineering major only directly recruits students who won prizes in Mathematics, Physics and Informatics.

In 2021-2022, USTH will continue to enroll students in two forms: One is to enroll directly through academic records and interviews and the other is to consider aspirations through the portal of the Ministry of Education and Training for 16 majors science-technology-technical training with 790 targets. In which, 80% of the target will be for direct enrollment.

Up to now, USTH has completed 02 rounds of direct enrollment in January and March, and finished accepting applications for the third round in May. Due to the complicated situation of the COVID-19 epidemic, in order to ensure health and safety, USTH will conduct online interviews for more than 600 candidates to apply the 3rd round. Candidates who pass the interview in the entrance exams before this national high school exam will only need to pass graduation to be eligible for admission to USTH.

Particularly for the master's level, in addition to scholarships for students with excellent university study results with levels ranging from 10 million to 45 million VND/year, with the aim of attracting and encouraging students to continue their studies, this is the first year that USTH has a special scholarship policy for graduates of USTH's undergraduate programs who want to study a master's program at the University with the highest scholarship up to 96% of the course.

For 2021-2022 school year, USTH enrolls 6 masters of science and technology programs, granting dual degrees with French universities through application review and interview: Biotechnology: Plants – Biomedical – Pharmacology; Information and communications technology; Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology; Space: Remote Sensing, Satellite Technology and Astrophysics; Energy: Green electricity, Bio-energy; Water - Environment - Oceanography.
