US Consulate General visits and works at Nha Trang Observatory
Overview of the meeting
After visiting the Cosmic Projection House and NTO's facilities, speaking at the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Le Minh welcomed the visit of the Consulate and hoped that the two sides would continue to promote cooperation activities related to space science. On the basis of previous cooperation between VAST/VNSC and US organizations in the field of space technology and applications, General Director Pham Anh Tuan proposed a number of key cooperation contents in the future, such as promoting the signing of the Vietnam-US framework agreement on cooperation in the peaceful use of outer space, promoting the implementation of the Artemis agreement on rules for lunar exploration, updating, implementing the Joint Declaration of Intent to cooperate in civil aviation and space activities between VAST and NASA.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Marie C. Damour expressed her pleasure to visit NTO and said that Astronomy is one of her favorite fields. The Consul General suggested Fulbright University as an institution where the NTO could cooperate on graduate exchange programs. Regarding space technology and applications, Ms. Marie C. Damour encouraged the Vietnamese side to propose specific research ideas, from which the Embassy and Consulate General will assist in connecting with agencies and appropriate organization of the United States to jointly promote the development of projects.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides expressed their mutual wish to continue developing cooperation in the field of space technology and applications, as well as Astronomy.
