10 authors receive Tran Dai Nghia Awards in 2019
After the first organization of the award in 2016, Tran Dai Nghia Award has been strongly pervaded and left positive impact on the scientist community, which was reflected through a large number of applications for the award in 2019. Projects registered for award consideration this year belonged to 9 fields of natural science and technology (Mathematics; Mechanics; Information Science and Computing Science; Physics; Chemistry; Life Sciences; Earth Sciences; Marine Science; Environmental Science and Energy) by domestic scientists and those abroad. Through evaluation on the profiles, the Award Council agreed to nominate and VAST Chairman gave a decision to award Tran Dai Nghia Award for 4 outstanding projects in science which have been in many international publications with intellectual property rights, and have been widely applied to meet the urgent needs of society. These projects are characterized by mastering advanced technologies: new materials, agricultural genetics, and environmental pollution treatment. The authors of the works are all scientists with long-term donation in their research areas and are contributing to socio-economic development and national defense and security.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam appreciated the research works and sent his congratulations to the scientists who received Tran Dai Nghia Awards in 2019. The Deputy Prime Minister also shared his viewpoint that the Award did not only evaluate the works in scientific research but also makes more sense in national protection and development. This award recognizes the dedication of scientists’ spirits in overcoming difficulties to develop science, making an important contribution to the national construction. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam praised the dedication and wisdom of the country"s scientist community, because despite difficult working conditions and limited investment, the scientific results have been evaluated internationally on par with those of other countries that have more investment in science. The Deputy Prime Minister said he hoped that scientists continue to create a breakthrough in socio-economic development in the coming time.
