On June 20th, the signing ceremony for a contract on scientific and technological cooperation between the Institute of Environmental Technology, the centre for technological support and services with the New technology application and tourism one member company limited (NEWTATCO) took place witnessed by Prof. Dr. of Sc. Duong Ngoc Hai, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and Mr. Trinh Thanh Giang, President of the Board of Members and NEWTATCO General Director. Representatives from institutes under VAST and NEWTATCO, vice directors and managers of technological departments also attended the signing ceremony.

NEWTATCO, a company under VAST, has had stable cooperation in the application of technologies and collected research gathered from agencies under VAST, including absorb avoidance, the building of power constructions, iBMS smart building, the treatment of the environment. From what have been achieved, the two sides continue to join hands to study the processing, experimentally install the dry toilet based on Bio-toilet technology, and provide the Led light system.



Bio-toilet technology, studied by scientists from VAST, is the technology that use microorganism to turn waste into CO2 gas and steam on the surface of coal carbon biological material burned from bamboo and wood. The technology’s advantage is that it is totally ordourless, does not use water or chemicals, is environmentally friendly; therefore, it is suitable for public toilets in old quarters, for the railway system and tourism sites of Vietnam. After successful study and processing of the model, NEWTATCO will experimentally bring public toilets with Bio-toilet technology into use in some public places.

The second cooperative content in the signing ceremony of contract on scientific and technological cooperation between the Institute of Environmental Technology, the centre for technological support and services with NEWTATCO is the application of Led light system in smart building at No. 21 Lang Ha Street that is in the national program on effective and economical use of energy. VAST agency, the centre for technological support and services, directly participates in the application. The Led light system created by the centre for technological support and services which is studied by professional scientists can light well, save power, has high durability, and promises to bring a lot of socio-economic efficiency in the near future.

During the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. of Sc. Duong Ngoc Hai, VAST Vice President appreciated the scientific and technological cooperation among agencies, saying that he hoped in the near future, agencies would increase the cooperative relationship to apply research results and scientists’ achievements into production and benefit socio-economic development.

On behalf of NEWTATCO, Mr. Trinh Thanh Giang, NEWTATCO General Director, thanked VAST leaders for trusting NEWTATCO in cooperating with the Institute of Environmental Technology and the centre for technological support and services, in order to apply and carry out technologies into reality to serve socio-economic development. He also showed his desire that the application of these hi-tech products would bring practical benefits to people’s lives and he hoped to receive a positive response from people.

Representatives from the Institute of Environmental Technology and the centre for technological support and services confirmed they would work closely with NEWTATCO to realize the cooperation and ensure the quality and progress of the application of technology.
