The second VAST-KAST workshop on biodiversity and bio-active compounds
The bilateral workshop was in the framework of science and technology cooperation between VAST and KAST. Through the workshop, scientists from the two academies had an opportunity to introduce and share research experience in the fields of biodiversity, biological technology and bio-active compounds, hence promoting future cooperation among scientists from the two academies.
The workshop drew the participation of more than 100 scientists from VAST, Chungnam National University, Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, the Institute of Marine Biochemistry, the Institute of Chemistry, the Institute of National Products Chemistry, the Institute of Ecology and Ecological Resources, the Institute of Tropical Biology, Southern Institute of Ecology, the Institute of Environmental Technology, the Institute of Biotechnology, and the Institute of Marine Environment and Resources. 42 scientific reports were registered in the workshop book, while 13 were presented at the workshop. Participants at the workshop discussed and shared obtained results and hoped that the next workshop will be organized in the Republic of Korea so that scientists from VAST can promote further study from scientists from KAST.
