The Institute of Natural Chemical Products celebrates 30th anniversary (1990-2020) and receives certificate of merit from Prime Minister

On January 21, 2021, the Institute of Natural Products Chemistry, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, solemnly marked the 30th anniversary of its establishment and received the Prime Minister's certificate of merit.

Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Tuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, and Vice President of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology; representatives of the Office and the functional departments, leaders of the units directly under the Academy, former leaders of the Institute of Natural Products Chemistry and all employees.

Institute of Natural Products Chemistry - formerly known as the Department of Natural Products Chemistry - was established in 1970 under the State Science and Technology Committee. From 1990 up to now, in 30 years of non-stop development, the Institute has gained many achievements in basic research and implementation. Especially in the past 10 years, 2010-2020, the Institute of Natural Products Chemistry has always been at the top of VAST in terms of the number of scientific works, articles, inventions and useful solutions contributing to making many productions used in agriculture, aquaculture and health care.

At the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Thi Hong Minh presented a summary of the Report on the history of establishment, construction and development of the Institute. Over the past 50 years of establishment and development, the Institute's scientific research and training potential has been increasingly strengthened, the facilities for scientific research and training have been enhanced with modern equipment.

Also at the ceremony, Dr.Nguyen Ngoc Tung - Deputy Head of the Organization and Personnel Committee, announced the Prime Minister's commendation decisions for units and individuals with outstanding achievements in scientific research.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Tuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, congratulates the Institute of Natural Products Chemistry for affirming the role and position of a prestigious research institute, having made many achievements in scientific research, contributing to the development of science and technology in many fields such as health care, sustainable development of high-tech agriculture and environmental protection. He also believed that with the available potential, the Institute of Natural Products Chemistry will increasingly develop, and coordinate well with research institutes of VAST to solve interdisciplinary and international issues.

At the end of the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr Pham Thi Hong Minh - Director of the Institute of Natural Products Chemistry, gave sincere thanks to the delegates, guests, leaders of VAST's units and colleagues who came to this anniversary. The Institute is very pleased to have been highly appreciated and received the certificate of merit awarded by the Prime Minister. Officials and employees of the Institute of Natural Products Chemistry are deeply aware that this is encouragement for the unit to develop plans and development strategies of VAST in the future.
