Over two field surveys, in collaboration with scientific staff of the Geological Institute (VAST), the delegation of the Institute of Environmental Technology collected more than 30 samples of bentonite clay minerals. These samples were gathered to analyze the chemical composition and minerals to build a database, map the source of materials for finding suitable materials for processing into poultry feed additives.
Based on empirical studies, the project team has developed a wet treatment method in combination with gravity sorting technology to refine some collected bentonite samples. At the appropriate expansion time and using cyclone separator, this method refined purified raw bentonite clay mineral with an initial mineral content of about 50% bentonite crystal to reach the mineral content of MMT up to 75%, reaching standards as raw materials for production of animal feed additives that foreign countries often use.
