The Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union is an important political forum, a great festival of the youth of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, where the intelligence, feelings and enthusiasm of the members and youth of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology converge and shine. The Congress has the task of summarizing and evaluating the results of the implementation of the Resolution of the Congress of the Youth Union for the period 2022-2025; at the same time, determining the direction and tasks of the Youth Union and youth movement for the new term; electing the Executive Committee of the Youth Union for the term 2025-2030 and electing the delegation to attend the 1st Congress of the Government Youth Union for the term 2025-2030.

The Youth Union of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology is a grassroots Youth Union organization directly under Government Youth Union. Currently, the Youth Union of the Academy has 22 affiliated Youth Union organizations. The total number of Youth Union members of VAST is 3,877 comrades. The majority of the Youth Union members have university degrees, many have master's and doctoral degrees. During the last term, under the attention and direction of the Party Committee, the Leadership of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and the Standing Committee of the Government Youth Union, the Youth Union Executive Committee of VAST has implemented many outstanding and highly effective youth activities and movements, completing, achieving and exceeding the set targets, especially in carrying out political tasks appropriate to the specific activities of the unit.

Speaking at the Congress, comrade Le Sy Tung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chief of Office of VAST said that in the past term, along with the development process of VAST, the Youth Union of VAST has made many efforts, strived, constantly grown and matured, making important contributions to the overall success of VAST. In addition, comrade Le Sy Tung also hoped that each member and youth must identify studying, thoroughly grasping and pioneering the implementation of the Plan to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the VAST as the top political task. It is necessary to closely link youth activities and movements with the implementation of political and professional tasks. It is necessary to promote the role of young scientists, proactively participating in strategic research directions and key technological fields of VAST. Regularly attach importance to political and ideological education. Continue to innovate and expand the forms of branch activities, ensuring practicality and effectiveness.

Comrade Bui Hoang Tung - Member of the Government Party Committee, Secretary of Government Youth Union acknowledged the remarkable developments of the Youth Union and the youth movement of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, clearly affirming the pioneering and intellectual role of the young scientific staff. The most prominent is the core role of youth in scientific research. Second, the revolutionary action movements have a strong "intellectual" identity, depth and influence. To concretize the pioneering role in implementing the political tasks of the Institute, especially the successful implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW, in the coming term, the Youth Union of the Institute needs to focus on building and replicating a number of typical models and solutions as follows: Model "VAST Young Science Conference Series - VAST Young Minds Meeting", Model "Specialized Knowledge Volunteer Teams", Model of Support Group "Incubating Young Inventions".

At the Congress, delegates listened to the Review Report of the Executive Committee of the Academy's Youth Union for the 2022-2025 period; Project on building the Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 period; Report summarizing comments on draft documents of the Youth Union Congresses at all levels; Summary report on the Youth Union work and youth movement of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology for the 2022-2025 period, directions and tasks for the 2025-2030 period; and reports of speeches by affiliated Youth Union branches.

The 2025-2030 term opens in the context of the country entering a new era of development, with a strong desire to rise up. More than ever, science, technology and innovation are identified as breakthrough driving forces. That historic responsibility is placed on the shoulders of our young generation, especially after the Politburo issued Resolution 57-NQ/TW.

Therefore, each member and youth must be the core force in implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and the Implementation Plan of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology according to the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo, need to be pioneers, dedicated, self-study and consciously improve their qualifications in science and technology, innovation. Union activities need to be closely linked to professional tasks, promoting the role of young scientists who are proactive, have breakthrough and creative thinking, actively participate in building strategic research directions, research and technology development of VAST, contributing to building the Academy to become increasingly strong, a leading unit in scientific research and technology application in the period when the country enters a new era of development, an era of national development.

The Congress also elected the Executive Committee for the new term. After a period of urgent and serious work, on the afternoon of October 9, 2025, the Congress elected 25 capable and enthusiastic comrades to the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, term VIII, 2025-2030. At the end of the afternoon of October 9, 2025, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union, term VIII, held its first meeting to elect key positions of the Youth Union, including the Standing Committee of 5 comrades: comrade Phan Ke Son, comrade Dang Quoc Dai, comrade Pham Thanh Dang, comrade Le Duc Bach, comrade Le Hoang Hiep. Comrade Phan Ke Son was elected to hold the position of Secretary, comrade Dang Quoc Dai and comrade Pham Thanh Dang were elected to hold the position of Deputy Secretaries. At the same time, at the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the Institute, it was unanimously elected the Inspection Committee of the Institute, consisting of 5 comrades: Comrade Pham Thanh Dang, Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, Comrade Le Minh Duc, Comrade Tran Tuan Duong, and Comrade Vu Dinh Danh. Comrade Pham Thanh Dang was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Institute. The Congress elected delegates to attend the 1st Congress of the Government Youth Union, term 2025-2030, including 06 official delegates and 02 alternate delegates.
