Summary of Party work in first 6 months, key tasks in the last 6 months 2024

On June 28, 2024, the Party Committee of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) organized the 17th Executive Committee Conference to evaluate the results of Party work in the first six months of the year, implement key tasks in the last six months of 2024 and consider and decide on a number of contents under the authority of the Executive Committee of VAST Party Committee.

Comrade Chau Van Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, secretary of VAST Party Committee, president of VAST chaired the conference, with the participation of members of the Executive Committee and members of the Inspection Committee of VAST Party Committee and Secretaries of Party organizations under the VAST Party Committee.

Also attending the conference were representatives of the following agencies: the Party Central Committee Commission of Organization, the Party Central Committee's Office, the Party Central Committee Commission of Internal Affairs, the Party Central Committee Commission of Popularization and Education, the Party Central Committee Commission of Inspection and the Central Agencies Bloc Party Committee.

In 2024, VAST continues to implement the policy of perfecting the organization according to Decree 106/2022/ND-CP on December 24, 2022 of the Government, regulating the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of VAST; VAST Party Committee has strengthened direction to conduct inspection and supervision of party organizations and party members; Inspection by authorities on declaration and verification of asset and income declarations, handling of complaints, settlement of complaints and denunciations, prevention of negative corruption, use of public assets, management of officials and workers; especially, the implementation of the job position project and preparation for party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress.

Implementing the rules of solidarity, democracy and determination in leading and directing Party Committees at all levels, in the first six months of the year, VAST has achieved many important results in carrying out political tasks; scientific and technological human resource training and staff training; technology deployment and application of research results to production and life; international cooperation, information, publishing; organization - personnel and inspection work; digital transformation work; political, ideological and ethical leadership; Party building organization work; inspection, supervision and leadership of mass mobilization work and mass organizations.

After listening to the draft Reports, the Conference discussed and contributed many opinions, clarified the results achieved in the first six months of the year, and proposed key solutions for effective implementation of assigned tasks in the last six months of 2024 and voted to basically approve the following contents: Report on the results of Party work in the first six months of the year, key work tasks in the last six months of 2024 of VAST Party Committee; Report on the results of inspection and supervision in the first six months of the year, and key tasks in the last six months of 2024 of the VAST Party Committee and the Inspection Committee of VAST Party Committee; Project to upgrade the Grassroots Party Cell of the Institute of Oceanography into the Grassroots Party Committee of the Institute of Oceanography; Estimated report on VAST's 2025 state budget plan; Approving the Resolution of the 17th Executive Committee of VAST Party Committee. The conference also heard a report on the results of implementing the Party building organization of the VAST's Party Committee and the thematic report "DNA assessment of fallen soldiers' remains and the need for technological innovation" of the Institute of Biotechnology.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, comrade Chau Van Minh emphasized that in order to effectively implement the key tasks identified by the conference in the last six months of 2024, members of the Executive Committee requested Party committees and Party Committee Secretaries at subordinate levels, based on their assigned responsibilities and tasks, need to concretize the assigned work contents, strengthen leadership, direction, inspection, and urging to implement them. Effectively implement assigned political tasks in 2024.

Within the framework of the Conference, VAST Party Committee announced and awarded Certificates of Merit from the Central Agencies Bloc Party Committee to one collective (Office Party Committee) and two party members (comrade Dao Viet Ha – the Party Committee of the Institute of Oceanography and comrade Nguyen Manh Ha - Cell 3, the Party Committee of the Institute of Geography) achieved the standard of "Excellent completion of tasks" for five consecutive years (2019-2023).
