Speaking at the opening of the Conference, comrade Chau Van Minh said that 2023 was a difficult year for the country, and also the year the VAST implements many important tasks. The Party Committee, leaders of VAST and its affiliated units have made efforts to lead and direct the successful completion of tasks and have achieved many important results. The conference focused on exchanging, discussing, analyzing and clarifying the achieved results and difficulties to identify the main tasks and solutions, trying to well implement the goals and tasks of 2024.
Comrade Pham Tuan Huy, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the VAST Party Committee, presented the Draft Report summarizing Party work in 2023, key tasks and solutions in 2024 of the VAST Party Committee. The Draft Report clearly states the leadership and direction roles of the Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the VAST Party Committee and affiliated party committees in leading the implementation of political tasks; Party building work in terms of politics, ideology, and ethics; organizational work, party member work and internal political situation; inspection, supervision and party discipline work; and leadership of mass organizations.
The attending delegates listened to the thematic report "Activities of the International Center for Research and Training in Mathematics" (sponsored by UNESCO) presented by Prof. Doan Thai Son - Director of the Institute of Mathematics.

At the 15th Conference of VAST Party Executive Committee Conference, chaired by comrade Chau Van Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Academy, attended by comrades of the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of the VAST Party Committee, and members of the Inspection Committee. The conference focused on discussing, contributing opinions and adopting:
• Report summarizing the Party's work in 2023 and key tasks and solutions in 2024;
• 2024 working program of the VAST Party Executive Committee; Collection and expenditure of party fees in 2023 of VAST Party Committee.
• Report summarizing the inspection and supervision work in 2023, directions and key tasks in 2024 and the 2024 inspection and supervision program of VAST Party Committee and the Inspection Committee of VAST Party Committee.
• Ranking of Party Committee of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in 2023.
• State budget allocation plan for regular expenditure items and development investment funds in 2024 of VAST.
• Resolution of the Fifteenth Conference of the VAST Party Executive Committee.
Speaking at the end of the Conference, comrade Chau Van Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the VAST, sent his thanks for the contributions of the delegates attending the Conference. recommendation.
