Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Comrade Chau Van Minh said that in 2021, despite being heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Party Committee and Leaders of the Academy have led and directed affiliated party organizations, party members and cadres to strictly implement political tasks, scientific research tasks and deploy technology, and have achieved many remarkable results. The conference focused on analyzing and clarifying the achieved results and limitations; thereby identifying key tasks and solutions, ensuring the successful completion of the goals and tasks of 2022 and the entire 2020-2025 term.

Comrade Pham Tuan Huy, Standing Deputy Secretary of VAST Party Committee, presented the draft report summarizing the Party's work in 2021, and key tasks and solutions in 2022. The draft report clearly states the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the Standing Party Committee and subordinate committees of VAST in the implementation of political tasks; leadership of the party building work; inspection and supervision; and leadership of mass organizations.
The draft Report was discussed and commented on by the Conference. 100% of delegates agreed to approve the Report on summarizing the Party's work in 2021, key tasks and solutions in 2022; The working program of the Executive Committee of VAST Party Committee in 2022; The project of merging the branch of Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Resources Geography into the branch of Tay Nguyen Institute of Scientific Research and upgrading it to the grassroots Party Committee of Tay Nguyen Institute of Scientific Research; The project of merging the branch of Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Physics into the Branch of Institute of Mechanics and Applied Informatics; The project of merging the branch of Southern Institute of Ecology into the branch of Institute of Applied Materials Science; Report summarizing inspection and supervision work in 2021, orientations and key tasks in 2022 of VAST Party Committee and the VAST Party Inspection Committee; The inspection and supervision program for 2022 of VAST Party Committee VAST Party Inspection Committee and the adoption of the Resolution of the Seventh Conference of VAST Party Committee.
On this occasion, VAST Party Committee awarded the Medal “For the work of Party building and organization” from the Central Organization Committee; Commemorating the Medal “For the work of Propaganda” from the Central propaganda and training commission and the Certificate of Merit from the Standing Board of VAST Party Committee for Party Organizations and Party members who have successfully completed tasks of the Party work in the past 5 years.
Speaking at the closing of the Conference, comrade Chau Van Minh thanked the comrades in the Executive Committee, the secretaries of the Party Committees and affiliated branches for being united and focused on the leadership work in 2021. He also suggested that the comrades in the Executive Committee, the secretaries of the Party Committees and affiliated branches continue to focus on leading and directing the review of all aspects of work in 2021 to ensure quality, specifying the advantages and disadvantages, thereby identifying specific and practical tasks and solutions to effectively implement the work in 2022.
On the occasion of the upcoming New Year, Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh sent his best wishes for health, success and New Year’s greetings to all delegates attending the Conference.
