Strengthening Research and Training Connections Between Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute”
Overview of the reception
At the working session, Prof. Dr. Tran Hong Thai expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation to visit and work with VAST. The President said that VAST is currently interested in promoting research in many fields such as atomic energy, new energy, environment, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), aerospace, and advanced materials. These are all research directions with potential for cooperation with training and research institutions of the Russian Federation.

Prof. Dr. Tran Hong Thai emphasized that VAST wishes to strengthen substantive cooperation with Russian Federation partners, aiming to implement joint research programs and develop science and technology products with high applicability. At the same time, he proposed that the two sides promote academic exchange, strengthen training cooperation, and develop high-quality human resources in spearhead fields of science and technology. On the basis of the contents discussed, the units in charge of international cooperation of the two sides will continue to develop specific action plans, including the promotion of cooperation contents.
On the MPEI side, Prof. Nikolay Rogalev highly appreciated the potential for cooperation with VAST. He said that the University has strengths in training and developing human resources in the fields of energy and applied engineering. The MPEI representative also emphasized that the University regularly focuses on improving the quality of its teaching staff, updating training programs in line with practical needs, and is ready to promote training and research cooperation with VAST in the coming time.
After the working session, the delegation visited two units: The Vietnam National Space Center and the Institute of Materials Science. This activity helped the delegates gain a clearer and more substantive understanding of the long-term cooperation potential, especially focusing on high-tech spearheads such as satellites, UAVs, and new materials.
