Signing the Program on coordination of science and technology activities between Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and Cao Bang People's Committee
Attending the signing ceremony were Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha, Vice President of VAST; Dr. Pham Tuan Huy, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Party Committee of VAST, and representatives of leaders of units affiliated to VAST. On the side of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee, there were Comrade Trieu Dinh Le, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Comrade Nguyen Trung Thao, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Hoang Van Thach, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and leaders of departments and enterprises of the province.
In recent years, although there has not been a cooperation agreement, VAST has implemented a number of Science and Technology tasks in Cao Bang province in many different forms, including 04 Science and Technology tasks implemented in the form of cooperation between VAST and Cao Bang People's Committee to apply modern technologies (nanotechnology, space technology, GIS technology) to solve a number of urgent issues, contributing to the economic and social development of the locality. It can be mentioned as: the application of nanotechnology for agriculture has been tested on corn, spices suitable for the dry high mountains of Ha Quang and Xuan Hoa; applying GIS technology to build a database of medicinal plant resources in Cao Bang province. These tasks initially bring efficiency, contribute to the welfare of the border area, as well as create opportunities for enterprises to exploit and develop indigenous trees in the direction of industry (planting, processing...) for high economic efficiency, creating OCOP products contributing to hunger eradication, poverty reduction of disadvantaged mountainous areas.
Party committees and authorities of Cao Bang province always pay attention to directing and creating the best conditions to promote science and technology activities and innovation, making science and technology gradually become an important driving force, guiding and breakthrough, impacting on promoting the development of local economic sectors. Especially, promoting the application of high technology, smart technology, green production technology to the development and production of key products and services, specialty and endemic products, products with local potential strengths in the direction of sustainable stability, towards brand building, increase value, increase competitiveness and create more jobs for local people, especially people in remote, border and extremely difficult areas of the province.
Prof. Chu Hoang Ha, Vice President of VAST, said that in recent years, VAST has always been proactive and creative in proposing many synchronous and breakthrough solutions to promote innovation, in order to put scientific results into practice, improve the efficiency of science and technology activities, contribute to the socio-economic development of the country. Many scientific and technological results have been transferred to businesses and localities throughout the country, creating social impacts, being highly appreciated by many localities and businesses. The signing ceremony of the Program on coordination of science and technology activities between VAST and Cao Bang People's Committee marked an important milestone towards strengthening and promoting strong cooperation in science and technology application between the two sides, contributing to making Science and Technology become a driving force for socio-economic development as well as ensuring national defense and security of the province, meeting the requirements of improving the quality of human resources and gradually mastering technology. VAST wishes and believes that the cooperation between the Province and the Institute will achieve many good results.
Comrade Trieu Thanh Le, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, highly agreed with the topic and contents of the coordination agreement between Cao Bang province and VAST; the good implementation of these coordination contents has contributed to promoting Cao Bang development. He believed that VAST, with many professors, doctors, leading experts in science and technology of the country, with experience, responsibility and enthusiasm, would help Cao Bang effectively implement the signed contents.

The contents of the program of coordination between the two sides in the period of 2023 - 2025, oriented to 2030 focus on the following issues: Consultancy on the development and implementation of schemes, mechanisms and policies for Science and Technology development; Consultancy and building Science and Technology potential for Cao Bang province; Support and cooperation in applied research, innovation and technology transfer; Supplying and exchanging Science and Technology information; and Mobilizing capital sources for science and technology and developing Science and Technology human resources.
