On July 2, 2026, the Institute of Chemistry under Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) signed a Scientific Research and Technology Transfer Cooperation Agreement with the Vietnam Ngoc Linh Ginseng Medicine and Pharmacy Group. The cooperation agreement is expected to create new momentum for applied research, elevating the value of Vietnamese medicinal herbs, particularly Ngoc Linh Ginseng.

At the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Ngo Quoc Anh, Director of the Institute of Chemistry, and Mr. Vo Kim Cu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Ngoc Linh Ginseng Medicine and Pharmacy Group, signed the Scientific Research and Technology Transfer Cooperation Agreement in the presence of leaders from both sides and attending delegates. The agreement serves as a foundation for both parties to strengthen coordination in researching and developing products from medicinal herbs, especially Ngoc Linh Ginseng, thereby promoting technology transfer and the commercialization of research outcomes.

Sharing at the ceremony, Mr. Vo Kim Cu expressed the desire to enhance cooperation with research units under VAST, particularly the Institute of Chemistry, to conduct in-depth research on the chemical composition, biological active compounds, and medicinal value of Ngoc Linh Ginseng. According to Mr. Vo Kim Cu, a close connection between enterprises and science and technology organizations will establish a foundation for developing high-value products, contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese medicinal materials.

Highly appreciating the potential for cooperation between the two sides, Prof. Dr. Tran Hong Thai emphasized that VAST possesses a team of experts and modern laboratory systems capable of conducting interdisciplinary research from chemistry to biotechnology to support genetic resource conservation, active component analysis, breeding, and the development of high-value products from medicinal herbs. He also reaffirmed that VAST always encourages its research units to step up cooperation with enterprises to bring research results into practice, contributing to socio-economic development and elevating the value of Vietnam's scientific and technological products.
