Signing of a cooperation agreement between Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and Hanoi People’s Committee

The two sides agreed to cooperate on the basis of promoting their respective capabilities and strengths in research and application of scientific and technological outcomes, innovation and digital transformation; providing consultancy and policy review for science and technology development; and linking training for high-quality human resources. Favorable conditions will be created for scientists from units under VAST to participate in science and technology tasks at all levels in Hanoi, while units of the city and enterprises operating in Hanoi will be able to receive technology transfer and apply the Academy’s scientific and technological research outcomes in service of the city’s socio-economic development.

Cooperation will focus on areas in which the Academy has strengths and which meet Hanoi’s high demand, such as digital technology, artificial intelligence, big data, the environment, biotechnology, new materials, natural disaster prevention, energy and sustainable development.

The signing of the memoranda of understanding is of great significance, opening a framework for long-term, substantive and effective cooperation between Hanoi and the Academy in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. At the same time, this is a concrete step towards realising the goal of building the Capital into an innovation hub with high regional competitiveness, playing a leading role in spreading the development of science, technology and digital transformation nationwide.
