Signing ceremony of contracts on scientific study tasks under the Central Highlands Programme 3 starting from 2014

A signing ceremony of contracts on scientific research tasks under the Central Highlands Programme 3, which has been carried out since 2014, took place at the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) on April 19th 2014, to continue implementing the basic objectives of the Central Highlands Programme 3.

The event drew the participation of the Steering Committee of the Programme, including Prof. Chau Van Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, VAST president and chairman of the Programme; Dr. Nguyen Dinh Ky, vice chairman and chief of office of the Programme; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc. Tran Trong Hoa, president of Council of Earth Sciences and vice chairman of the Programme; Prof. Dang Vu Minh – president of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association.


Le Quang Thanh, head of the Department of Social and Natural Science under the Ministry of Science and Technology, representatives of agencies presiding over the projects, and heads and secretaries of approved projects to implement science and technology tasks under the Central Highlands Programme 3, starting from 2014, also attended the ceremony.

At the signing ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Ky, vice chairman and chief of office of the Programme, announced decisions of VAST president on approving organizations and individuals to carry out state-level projects in 2014 plan under the Programme.


Contracts were signed with the heads of each project under the witness of leaders of task-assigned units. Addressing at the ceremony, Prof. Chau Van Minh, VAST president and chairman of the Programme, congratulated the heads of projects. He said the ceremony had important significance, marking a long step in the implementation of the programme’s tasks, and showing the full efforts of the Steering Committee and scientists who have love for the Central Highlands over the past time. On behalf of the Steering Committee, Prof. Minh pledged to support and create the most favourable conditions for the heads of projects. He hoped that the Steering Committee, relevant agencies and heads of the projects will coordinate with each other in the future to complete assigned tasks, contributing to comprehensive socio-economic development and national defence and security for the sustainable development trend in the Central Highlands.

Right after the signing ceremony, Dr. Dang Hoang Thanh from Vietnam Academy for Water Resources, who represent heads of signed projects, thanked the Steering Committee. He hoped that there would be close cooperation with the Steering Committee and the Programme to do well the tasks.

Concluding the ceremony, Dr. Ky said that the signed projects are carefully selected with practical research content serving life of people in the Central Highlands to promote socio-economic development and national defence and security in the Central Highlands comprehensively. On behalf of the Steering Committee of the Programme, Dr. Ky thanked VAST, the Ministry of Science and Technology, agencies presiding over the projects and heads of signed projects.

Through signed agreements, the relation between the Steering Committee of the Programme and agencies presiding over the projects will promoted. The Programme office will be a bridge for all scientists who take care for the Central Highlands.
