Scientific conference "Research results on specialized databases and promising IoT technology in serving digital transformation in Ninh Thuan"
On July 31, 2018, the People's Committee of Ninh Thuan province and Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) signed a cooperation agreement on science and technology for the period 2018 - 2022. After 5 years, coordination activities between the Academy and the People's Committee of Ninh Thuan province on science and technology have been implemented in many diverse forms. The cooperation program has mobilized science and technology resources from VAST and Ninh Thuan province, solving many problems and practical issues from local production and life, contributing to the overall development of the province. Within the framework of the Conference summarizing cooperation activities and signing of the Science and Technology Cooperation Program between Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee and Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology until 2030, representatives of the two focal agencies that are the Ninh Thuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and the Technology Application and Deployment Department co-organized the scientific conference "Research results on specialized databases and promising IoT technology in serving digital transformation in Ninh Thuan" on the afternoon of March 5, 2024, to introduce research results on specialized databases and IoT technology of VAST that can be applied in digital transformation, serving State management, businesses and increasing the economic competitiveness of Ninh Thuan province. This is part of the result of science and technology cooperation between the Provincial People's Committee and Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in the period 2018 - 2023.

The workshop attracted the attention of delegates from the Department of Information and Communications, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Industry and Trade, Union of Science and Technology Associations, Phuoc Binh National Park Management Board, Nui Chua National Park Management Board, Nha Ho Cotton Research and Agricultural Development Institute, and representatives of leaders of units affiliates, experts and scientists of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
At the Conference
The workshop had practical experience in Ninh Thuan province, a locality with the driest characteristics in our country, known as the far western region "lack of rain, excess sunshine" but has made important strides in development. General content about Ninh Thuan is shown through the short video "Ninh Thuan: Vision and aspirations". After the report and discussion session, the workshop heard 07 reports related to the issue of Digital Transformation in Ninh Thuan. The opening report of the Department of Information and Communications was about strategies, policies and some initial results of the Digital Transformation process in Ninh Thuan. The next reports focused on building specialized databases and IoT technology of the Academy focusing on Digital Transformation:
+ Initial results of Digital Transformation in Ninh Thuan province and the desire for Academy scientists to share existing science technology databases to develop Digital Government in Ninh Thuan province.
+ Build a biodiversity database of Ninh Thuan province as a scientific basis to help managers orient conservation and effectively exploit natural resources for sustainable development; help managers as well as the community in statistics, exploitation, monitoring, warning and conservation of natural resources.
+ Applying remote sensing images and GIS geographic information in managing agriculture, aquaculture and tourism.
Some reports at the Conference
The presented reports have shown an overview of specialized databases, IoT technology, and technology solutions that have been researched and applied by units under the Academy that can be applied in areas of life serving the realization of digital transformation aspirations in Ninh Thuan.
Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, a Government agency that performs basic research functions in natural sciences and multi-disciplinary and multi-field technology development with strengths in human potential and the facility, has made many achievements in scientific research and technological development in the field of digital transformation from new technology applications to rational use of natural resources, natural disaster prevention and control, and environmental protection in the context of complex climate change. Therefore, there are still many research results, such as databases on geology, geomorphology, water resources, space technology, and applications that can be deployed to serve the agricultural, industrial and tourism sectors in Ninh Thuan province.
Based on the results achieved during the past period of cooperation, hopefully in the near future with continued cooperation on science and technology, signed on March 6, 2024 between the Chairman of Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee and President of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, will continue to mobilize science and technology resources from the Academy, solving many practical problems, contributing to improving the quality of local production and life, contributing to the overall development of the province in accordance with the goals set by Ninh Thuan province: “Synthesizing resources, Developing links and Creating different values”.
The scientific conference "Research results on specialized databases and promising IoT technology in serving digital transformation in Ninh Thuan" is a place to share research results of scientists, and is also a forum for exchanging problems and finding solutions in the field of digital transformation for management agencies and businesses in Ninh Thuan province. This is the most practical activity to respond to our country's National Digital Transformation Day with the theme "Exploiting digital data to create value" as well as promoting effective science and technology cooperation between the Provincial People's Committee and VAST of Science and Technology more effectively in the period to 2030 and beyond.
