Overview of the meeting
The National Technology Innovation Fund, in collaboration with the Korea Development Institute (KDI) and the Korea Small and Medium Business Association (INNOBIZ), conducts the Korean Government's 23/24 KSP Knowledge Sharing Program in Vietnam through the "Development of Innovative Startups and Technologically Innovative SMEs" Project with the aim of developing technological innovation policies for SMEs in Vietnam, thereby building a technological innovation ecosystem for startups and SMEs in Vietnam.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Tien Dung, representing VAST, welcomed Korean experts and colleagues who visited and worked at VAST. The VAST is a research agency under the Government, performing the function of basic research on natural sciences and technology development; providing scientific arguments for science and technology management and building policies, strategies, and planning for economic and social development; training highly qualified science and technology human resources according to the provisions of law. Recently, the Academy has promoted the direction of application and implementation, clearly demonstrated through the results achieved in many aspects, from science and technology tasks that bring about socio-economic development for localities and enterprises to achievements in intellectual property as well as implementation that are always leading in the country and recognized internationally. Those practical results are a solid foundation, creating the position and reputation of the VAST, attracting not only ministries, branches and localities wishing to sign, but also international partners to propose cooperation.

Concluding the meeting, the two sides expressed their desire to continue to cooperate in specific projects, such as supporting small and medium-sized enterprises to participate in various types of VAST-level topics and tasks, to deepen and clarify the quality of research results applied in enterprises, while consolidating and expanding the market, creating momentum for enterprises, especially startups, to have more opportunities for success.
