Publishing House for Science and Technology’s 2 books awarded 5th National Book Award, 2022

On the evening of October 3, 2022, at the Voice of Vietnam Theater, the 5th National Book Award Ceremony was held to honor 26 works in many fields. This is a prestigious award presented annually for books (book series) of outstanding value in terms of content, ideology, knowledge and aesthetics, and those having a strong impact on or making extensive professional contributions, welcomed by the community and appreciated by specialists. The event also honored writers and people operating in the field of book publishing in Vietnam. The program was organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Publishing Association and the Voice of Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Vu Duc Dam, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the PCC, Head of the PCC Commission on Popularization and Education; Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Head of the PCC Commission on Popularization and Education, Minister of Information and Communications; Mr. Hoang Vinh Bao, Chairman of Vietnam Publishing Association, Chairman of the 5th National Book Award Council; and delegates, authors, and winners.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam assessed that the National Book Award is becoming more and more important, contributing to the development of culture, spreading knowledge, and expressed his wish that the National Book Award will become more and more prestigious, so that Vietnamese culture is more developed. The whole publishing industry, inheriting the tradition of 70 years, will continue to produce more beautiful works, fostering the cultural heritage of the nation.

Attending the 5th National Book Award were 48/57 publishers, with 298 titles and book series, including 386 books. This year's prize consists of 3 levels: Prize A, Prize B, and Prize C, awarded for 5 book categories: politics, economics; natural science and technology; social sciences and humanities; culture, literature and art; and children.

Publishing House for Science and Technology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, was honored to receive the B Prize for the book "Technology for creating avian influenza vaccines from plants: from research to application orientation in Vietnam" - by Chu Hoang Ha (Editor), Pham Bich Ngoc, Phan Trong Hoang, Udo Conrad, Ho Thi Thuong, Pham Thi Van, Vu Huyen Trang; and Prize C for the book "Polymer Composite Materials - Science and Technology" - authors: Tran Vinh Dieu, Ho Xuan Nang, Pham Anh Tuan, Doan Thi Yen Oanh.

Pham Thi Hieu, Director, Editor-in-Chief, Publishing House for Science and Technology, and representative of the author group of the book "Technology for creating avian influenza vaccines from plants: from research to application orientation in Vietnam" received the award.

The book "Technology for creating avian influenza vaccines from plants: from research to application orientation in Vietnam" by Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha (Editor) provides readers with systematic and in-depth knowledge on the technology of producing recombinant antigens from plants. The book summarizes the results of research cooperation between the Institute of Biotechnology, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Research (IPK), Germany for more than 15 years.

Doan Thi Yen Oanh, Deputy Director of Publishing House for Science and Technology and representative of the author group of the book "Polymer Composite Materials - Science and Technology", received the C Prize

The book "Polymer Composite Materials - Science and Technology" by the authors Tran Vinh Dieu, Ho Xuan Nang, Pham Anh Tuan, and Doan Thi Yen Oanh, provides readers with comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of the background materials, reinforcing fibers, technological additives, manufacturing techniques, material properties, methods, techniques of research, measurement and evaluation.
