The National Book Awards is an annual state award for books (book collections) of outstanding value in the content of thought, knowledge and aesthetics in order to honor the author, translator, scientist and publishers, contributing to discovering, storing and promoting valuable works to readers and promoting publishing to develop in the right direction and in line with the integration trend.

In 2019, 42 publishers submitted 355 books for 259 titles. The 2nd National Book Award, 2019 has made more reasonable changes than the previous one. Instead of awarding Good Books, Nice Books, and dividing Gold, Silver, Bronze and consolation prize, this year's Awards selected only good books and collections of book that ensure content and aesthetics, and divided into three categories: Prize A, Prize B and Prize C.

With five books: Political and economic; natural sciences and technology; social sciences and humanities; culture, literature and arts; children, the awards council agreed to award 27 books and collection of books, including 02 A prizes, 13 B prizes and 12 C prizes.
