Prof. Dr. Sc. Hoang Xuan Phu elected as Non-EU Member/Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences
In addition to the European Academy of Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sc. Hoang Xuan Phu is also a fellow of four other prestigious academies: the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences (Heidelberger Akademie der Wissenschaften), elected in 2004; the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities (Bayerische Akademie der Wissenschaften), elected in 2010; The World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries (TWAS), elected in 2013; and the German National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech – Deutsche Akademie der Technikwissenschaften), elected in 2019.

Prof. Dr. Sc. Hoang Xuan Phu’s main research areas include optimisation, optimal control, numerical analysis, and scientific computing. Throughout his scientific career, he has held many important positions and undertaken significant scientific responsibilities, notably: serving as the Asian representative on the Commission for Developing Countries of the International Mathematical Union (2011–2014); a member of the editorial boards of six reputable international mathematics journals; Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Journal of Mathematics (2011–2022), and currently its Honorary Editor-in-Chief.
Pro. Dr.Sc. Hoang Xuan Phu has chaired seven international scientific conferences on high-performance computing (in 2000, 2003, 2006, 2009, 2012, 2015, and 2018) and 23 annual scientific workshops on optimisation and scientific computing (from 2003 to the present).

In a letter addressed to Professor Hoang Xuan Phu, Professor Rodrigo Martins – President of the European Academy of Sciences, affirmed: “This election was approved by the Council of the European Academy of Sciences following a rigorous evaluation process, representing the highest recognition of the Professor’s outstanding scientific contributions and international standing.”
