President Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology visits Laos
On March 7th, President Chau Van Minh paid a working visit to Lao’s Commission of Science and Technology to unify cooperation possibilities in fields such as natural disasters, climate change, biological diversification, technology and active substances, suitable use of natural resources and territory planning. In addition, the two sides also discussed information, environmental technology and universal technology, archives and museums. After discussion, the delegation of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology visited institutes and research establishments of science and technology under the Lao Commission of Science and Technology.
In the afternoon, Prof. Chau Van Minh, president of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and Prof. Bountiem Phissamay, Minister and Chairman of the Lao Commission of Science and Technology signed a memorandum of understanding about science and technology between the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the Lao Commission of Science and Technology. Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos also participated in the signing ceremony.

On March 8th, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and Vice President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic received the delegation of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. The Vice President appreciated the visit by the delegation and the cooperation between Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the Lao Commission of Science and Technology. He said he hoped that the two sides will strengthen cooperation and share experience, especially in practical scientific research, contributing to promoting science and technology to serve the socio-economic development of the two countries.
