25/02/2025
On February 4, 2025, Prof. Dr. Chau Van Minh, President of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) had a working session with the Board of Directors of University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) on the implementation of the 2025 work plan, especially strengthening cooperation with French universities and research organizations in research and training of high-quality science and technology human resources according to international standards.

In the jubilant atmosphere of the first days of the year of the Snake, USTH Board of Directors happily reported to the President of VAST the outstanding results in teaching and research in 2024 and presented the plan for implementing activities in 2025.

Congratulating USTH Board of Directors on its achievements, Prof. Dr. Chau Van Minh, President of VAST, directed USTH to focus on improving the quality of training; closely connecting with research units under VAST; linking training with applied research; strengthening international cooperation and integration in accordance with the direction of Resolution 57-NQ/TW on developing science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; practically contributing to training high-quality science and technology human resources for VAST in particular and Vietnam in general in the context of the whole country making efforts in the era of national development.

The continued proposal to the Vietnamese and French Governments to extend the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Development of USTH was also an important content discussed during the meeting. This Agreement has played a fundamental role in the development of USTH since its establishment in 2009, helping USTH receive great support from the French Government, universities and research organizations of this country in the past 15 years of development.

In recent times, USTH has established many cooperation programs with leading universities and research institutes in France, especially in the fields of biotechnology - medicine, information technology, renewable energy and environment. The strong implementation of the Vietnam - France dual degree training programs at USTH has created conditions for students to access advanced education, while contributing to building a high-quality human resource team to serve the development of science, technology and innovation in Vietnam. The fact that USTH has achieved the European accreditation standards for training institutions of the French High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES) is a clear demonstration of USTH's efforts to improve the quality of training over the past 15 years, in which the important role belongs to the school's Board of Directors. In 2025, USTH will continue to increase student and lecturer exchanges and implement more joint scientific projects with French partners; especially in high-tech fields, core technologies that are currently being developed in Vietnam such as renewable energy, nuclear physics and applications, materials science and semiconductors, biotechnology, data science, artificial intelligence and applications, ... expanding cooperation opportunities with other major French partners such as the French Atomic Energy and Renewable Energy Agency (CEA), Paris Cité University, ... This is not only an opportunity to improve training quality but also helps strengthen research capacity, contributing to the implementation of the country's science and technology development goals.

The working session between the President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the USTH Board of Directors took place in an open and constructive atmosphere of the new spring days. Prof. Dr. Chau Van Minh believes that, with the support from VAST and French partners, USTH will have strong development in 2025, continuing to achieve many new achievements.
