President of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology works with the Research Institute of Medicinal Materials and Essential Oils of the Russian Federation
At the meeting, Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Chairman of VAST, thanked the leadership and scientists of VILAR for their cooperation and support for Vietnamese scientists, especially the Mausoleum Management Board in the process of the special task of long-term preservation and absolute safety of President Ho Chi Minh's body. Based on the directing speech of the Prime Minister on the occasion of the Conference summarizing 30 years of direct cooperation between the Mausoleum Management Board and VILAR, VAST proposed the parties exchange and implement cooperation in areas of strength such as: research on pharmaceuticals, essential oils, search for potential medicinal compounds from natural resources, etc., to provide practical support for the Mausoleum Management Board to carry out this important task.

Speaking at the meeting, Major General Bui Hai Son, Acting Head of the Mausoleum Management Board and Commander of the High Command to protect the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, emphasized the great role of VILAR not only in the work of preserving the body of President Ho Chi Minh but also in the implementation of many projects of cooperation in scientific research, as well as training of experts, contributing to improving the quality of the implementation of the central political tasks of the Mausoleum Management Board. In the coming time, the Mausoleum Management Board wishes to continue working with VILAR to cooperate with research units in Vietnam, especially Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, to jointly build towards mastering the scientific foundation to complete the assigned tasks of the unit.

Prof. Acad. Sidelnikov Nikolai Ivanovich, President of VILAR, shared that although this is the first time working with VAST, he has been known to VAST through the cooperation between VAST and the Russian Academy of Sciences in recent years. VAST and VILAR have many common interests in herbal research, cultivation, and processing, so the potential for cooperation in the near future is great. On the basis of functions and tasks of the unit, leaders of the Institutes of Chemistry of Natural Compounds, Institute of Chemistry, Institute of Marine Biochemistry, Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources, Institute of Materials Science, Institute of Research For genome research, the Vietnam National Museum of Nature has proposed a number of areas and contents of cooperation and wishes in the near future to discuss directly with experts of VILAR and the Mausoleum Management Board to concretize cooperation activities.
